Where to stay this winter

Winter breaks are a huge thing this year as many of us have had to cancel our plans for the summer due to COVID. If you’re in the same boat, this blog can help you with some inspiration of campsites and caravan sites that are open in winter.

Keep reading to see what made our list!

Meathop Fell Caravan Club Site. Cumbria

Located in the peaceful Grange-over-Sands, this campsite is the ideal place to start your adventures into North Lancashire and the Southern Lake District.

This is a good site for cyclists as there is lots of flat terrain surrounding the site, so a great place for a quiet bike ride. You can also explore historical and artistic local attractions such as the Potter Gallery in Main Street.

This site does also have a dog walk area and baby changing facilities, so it’s suitable for the whole family to enjoy.

Kingsbury Water Park Campsite, West Midlands

This campsite is one for those looking to connect with nature, as guests can enjoy wildlife, water, cycling and walking. Based in a tranquil oasis in the heart of the Midlands and bordered by the Water Park, this is a great destination for R&R and enjoying the wildlife.

If you do want a pinch of adventure in your days, you can head to local attractions such as Drayton Manor and Tamworth Castle. There is Kingsbury Water Park but it may be a bit cold for water sports depending when you visit!

This site does have grass-only pitches, so something to note before you book.

Blackmore Campsite, Worcestershire

If you love to walk, this is a great spot for you. This campsite is ideal for exploring local market towns or walks in the Malvern Hills. Surrounded by beautiful Worcestershire countryside and stunning hill views, this site is a great place to explore. Nearby you can explore great sights such as the Great Malvern Priory, Malvern Hills or the Croome Panorama tower.

There’s also a pretty village nearby with two pubs, which is also just a stroll away from the site – so you have everything you need within walking distance!

If you are heading on a winter break this year, make sure your vehicle is protected with Pro-Tec covers.
