Welcome to new staff

We’ve been around for a long time here at Protec. We’re in our third decade as a leading manufacturer of bespoke protective covers for caravans and motorhomes, slowly growing year on year and bringing our covers to an increasing customer base.

Right now is a very exciting time in our story. Last year at Christmas, we welcomed a new M.D. and there have been some great changes in the way we do business since then. We’re tightening up our procedures, honing our products and looking for ways to improve the services we offer to you, our customers.

Today, as part of our continued development, we are proud and excited to announce the appointment of two new members to the Protec team; Beki Chang and Matt Fazackerley.

Beki has been appointed as CAD Manager and joins our digital development team. All new patterns we take from caravans, cars and motorhomes are created using age-old tailoring techniques. If your vehicle isn’t already on our extensive database then our designers will come to you. They’ll take measurements, pin fabric over the surface of the vehicle, nip a bit here, tuck a bit there, add any darts etc. Once the tailoring is complete, the fabric pattern needs to be translated to a digital pattern so that our state of the art CNC machines can accurately cut the pieces of your new cover. Beki has over 6 years’ experience in tailoring and has a degree in Fashion Design with Marketing & Production and we’re delighted to have her join the Protec family.

Matt joins us as Cutting Manager. Each cover we produce is made to order, unique to the make and model of vehicle you have asked us to protect. As you can imagine, we can have hundreds of orders going through our production floor at any one time. Towing covers, full caravan or motorhome covers, car covers, each one bespoke and made to order. Some of the covers need to be cut by hand, others on the CNC machine and it’s Matt’s job to make sure everything is made correctly and on time. Matt brings his 11 years’ industry experience to our cutting floor and we are very much looking forward to streamlining our production and getting expertly crafted covers to customers quicker than ever before.

We’ve got a few projects ticking away behind the scenes and lots of improvements in the pipeline. We’ll be sharing developments here with you first so keep your eyes peeled for the next news article if you’re keen to know what we’ll be up to next.
