The Protec Easy-Fit System Explained

There are a lot of different protective vehicle covers on the market, so it is understandable to feel overwhelmed or confused when deciding which to buy.

We clued you up on the properties of our fabric in our previous blog here to help you make an informed decision when protecting your Caravan or Motorhome.

Now we want to inform you of the most popular feature of our full storage covers.

Protec have been in the vehicle cover industry for over twenty years, and in that time, we have developed and perfected our covers to ensure they provide you with ultimate protection whilst also being hassle-free to use.

Over a decade ago, our owners put their heads together to come up with an innovative design to make fitting the cover easier, and thus – the Easy-Fit system was born. Firstly, as an optional extra and later as a standard feature of all of our full storage covers for both caravans and motorhomes.

The Easy-Fit system is pretty self-explanatory – its aim is to make your cover easier to fit, meaning the use of step ladders or unfolding the cover on the roof to fit it over your vehicle is a thing of the past.

Our Easy-Fit covers come with a roll-up flap on the rear panel of the cover and a pair of extendable poles, making the fitting process a lot simpler and less strenuous, distributing the weight of the cover more evenly, making it more manageable even on larger motorhomes.

To fit your Protec cover, all you do is start at the front of the vehicle with the Easy-Fit flap rolled up, and using the poles, lift the cover over the front of the vehicle until it is on the roof. Once you have done this, you use the poles to push the cover along until you reach the end of the vehicle. Now the cover is on the vehicle, all that is left to do is un-roll the Easy-Fit flap and secure the cover with the adjustable straps that go underneath the vehicle.

From taking the cover out of the box, to securing the final strap, we have found it takes more people 15-20 minutes to fit their covers the first time – and it only gets quicker the more practice you have!
