As we get ready to ring in a new year and list all of our resolutions that no doubt we will abandon by February, we also get ready to say a heartfelt goodbye to some of our own.

Now, as tearful as we might be to be saying goodbye to our fearless leaders, Anne & Keith Proctor, please make no mistake – it is a happy one, too. After over 40 years of hard work in the industry and 25 years of running Protec Covers, building us up to become the market leaders we are today, we felt they had earned their retirement. The decision to hang up their aprons and sell the business didn’t come easy to Anne or Keith. This is why it was important to find someone with the same passion and values that we have.

Power Plastics also had its beginnings as a family-run business specializing in bespoke manufacturing with plastic, fabric and other materials, and in 2020 came to Protec to ask us to do some manufacturing for them. (can we blame them – our machinists are top-notch, after all!)

It was of utmost importance that the Protec name and reputation be left in good hands so we can continue to provide you with high-quality, award-winning products. This is why it wasn’t until after years of working alongside Power Plastics that the whisperings of selling the business and passing on the torch were heard.

Now, the torch is officially in the capable hands of Power Plastics.

Don’t worry, we are still the same ol’ Protec (kind of). We will still be trading as Protec, providing you with the same bespoke covers made by the same talented people, and sold by the same expert staff you have come to know over the years. The only thing that will change is we now have access to more resources, enabling us to dream up bigger and better ideas to make our products and services better than ever.

We hope you are as excited as we are to start this new exciting chapter and see all of the new things we hope to achieve in the coming year.
